Ron Rolheiser Retreat: 2017

We live with too much fear in our lives, much of it predicated on false fears of God. Scripture tells us that “fear of God is the beginning of wisdom”, even as every time it records God as appearing in human life the first words are always: “Do not be afraid!” What is healthy and what is unhealthy in terms of fearing God? How do we move beyond false religious fears and begin to understand God more as prodigal, merciful, tender, fully understanding, and wanting us to flourish in life?
